see the swimming pool retained with a new sports centre built above it.
There would also be retail units and community facilities in front of
the supermarket. There appears to be even less parking for the supermarket
and inexplicably,
the Imperial Road car park would be ringed by affordable housing. To
reach the supermarket car park, shoppers will be forced to drive all
the way
round
to Royal Avenue, past the access point to the Visitor Centre, the Sports
Centre and the affordable housing which is likely to increase
congestion and pressure on parking spaces. Additional car parking has
been created by running the car park under the rear of the supermarket
building. This plan appears to ignore the current proposals for the siting
of the Visitor
Centre on the recreation Ground.
